With the big player shake up in NA almost a week ago where of Melee Creeps taking on the core roster of Poppers Pupils, we had Vanguard Gaming and Pulsar Esports battling it out to see who would go against the new Melee Creeps. With a short best of once series, Pulsar Esports won against Vanguard Gaming and advanced to the finals.
Game 1: Melee Creeps almost let it slip away
With a closer than expected game against Pulsar Esports, Melee Creeps looked almost rusty. Though, in all fairness, it was their first actual game as a team together since reforming last Thursday. AVG was playing a little too cocky on
Apollo, and Saiah was playing a bit too aggressive on
Paige, but eventually they brought it around with Zeno dealing way above average damage for
The Doorman in a competitive setting. Arctic on
Mirage was MLC's final boss, dealing the most damage on his team and ultimately disrupting gameplay alongside Hydration on
Mo & Krill.
While the game had a steady back and forth for a while, around the 30 minute mark of the 41 minute game, MLC turned it around with a Mid Boss takeover and pushed the advantage from there, ending the first game.
Game 2: Melee Creeps rises to expectations
While the first game wasn't necessarily the level of impressiveness we were expecting out of the NA super roster, they made up for it in game two of this series. AVG went on the hunt, racking up over 50k damage as
Apollo. Zeno was close behind him dealing 45k damage as
Yamato. This is especially impressive as JonJon, a player usually known as a great M1 player, was just along for the ride on
Haze dealing only 18k damage. Just as comparison, their
Rem player, Saiah, did 21k in player damage.
While Spooky on
Lady Geist and Hydration on
Mo & Krill tried their best to keep Pulsar Esports in this game to take it to round three, their efforts were in vain as they fell under the 28 minute mark to Melee Creeps.
